NZCX Company Background
New Zealand Carbon Exchange Limited (NZCX) - local expertise on emissions trading.
Introduction
New Zealand Carbon Exchange Limited is run by its three directors, Murray Dyer, Stuart Frazer and Karen Price, all of whom have extensive experience in climate change policy and emissions trading issues.
NZCX was formed in 2004 after its principals were each approached by existing clients needing advice on carbon trading. We realised there was a need for a company with the full range of skills necessary to effectively service clients in this emerging emissions trading area.
While NZCX team's combination of energy and environment markets, engineering, policy and legal expertise allows us to cover all aspects of emissions trading, it was recognised that joining forces with a major international financial intermediary with local trading operations and infrastructure would significantly benefit NZCX's clients.
Following the passing of NZETS legislation, NZCX carefully evaluated the options and elected to join forces with ICAP New Zealand Limited, part of the ICAP Group.
Our Services
NZCX's services are now jointly marketed with ICAP as ICAP-NZCX:
- NZCX continues to provide the foundations of local expertise in the NZETS and wider climate change policy, legal frameworks and energy and environment markets development; and
- ICAP provides the trading infrastructure and administers all trading processes directly for ICAP-NZCX clients.
